Paul is a wonderful host. I have stayed at his places many times in the past and have only positive things to say about all of them. They are always very well cleaned, neat and thoughtfully designed and stocked--I'm not a coffee drinker but I've noticed there's always a fun selection of different flavors to try in the Nespresso machine at his places, for those of you that are! :) The buildings he owns are always very well maintained and updated, so you don't have to worry about any issues of that nature. This particular house is HUGE, and would be great for accommodating groups of several guests. There are not one but THREE full bathrooms--as well as a half bath in the dining room, so guests would have plenty of room between themselves for getting ready if you are in town for an event. On a similar note, there is generous counter space in the kitchen/dining areas for food prep, and plenty of seating available both indoors and out. Smart televisions in every bedroom and the living room, and I appreciated the remotes provided for controlling the ceiling fan speeds. You have the whole place to yourself--it is one house on the street, not shared with any others, so you get to have some privacy and quiet in that regard. The location is easily walkable to a large selection of private shops and restaurants, and also to several hospitals. Children's Hospital is in fact only a block or so away. 👍 The Shadyside/Bloomfield location means you're far enough away from downtown that you can skip the noise and grime, but close enough that it's a very short drive to the city center for events, or to Oakland for the universities. There are also a large sized front-loading washer and dryer in the upstairs hallway closet, with a variety of settings, so if you need that for a longer stay or to clean laundry for/after an event, you'll have what you need. Paul himself is a very kind, friendly and flexible person. As I said I've stayed in several of his places before and he has always been ready and willing to help when I had issues. I strongly recommend any of his places, and this particular location I think would be very suited for family or friends traveling that would need a little bit larger of a space to sprawl out in and be comfortable!
